• The MIIIE Consortium was established in 1992 with funding from the U.S. Department of Education, Title VI program

• Since 1995 the consortium has been self-funded, but continues to receive funding from federal, state, and nonprofit organizations for various projects.

• The administration of the consortium is located at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
• 
  
• Members of the consortium come from two-year colleges in the Midwest region.
•
